When/Why did you start CrossFit?
‘September 1st, 2012. I like a good workout and CF is fun and social.’

How has CrossFit changed you?
My Doctor has cut the prescription pills I take in half! I have more energy. I walk the stairs now instead of taking the elevator.

What are your strengths/weaknesses in the gym?
Strengths: Squats
Weakness: Toes to Bar and Handstand Push Ups

What is your favorite WOD?

John is a 71 year old Retired Fire Captain from Detroit Fire Dept. He has 2 kids. John Jr, who is also a firefighter and avid CrossFitter here at Lower Town and Jennifer who is a nurse. John has 2 grandchildren. Brayden, 5, who is in CF Kids at Lower Town and Avery who is 1 ½ years old.

John is the first recipient of the Lower Town Athlete of the Month award which will forever now be named ‘The John Arasim Sr. Award’. John represents everything Lower Town is all about. ‘Check your ego at the door. It doesn’t matter where you finish, only that you finish with integrity and give a solid effort. Leave the gym better than when you walked in. Head high and be proud, this stuff is hard!’
