Eric Bartlett
Certifications: Bachelors in Health Education, CF-L1, USAW Olympic Lifting, CrossFit Games 2012 3rd Fittest Man in the Wordl (45ys-49ys)
Eric has a degree in Health Education from The University of Massachusetts. He is also CrossFit Level 1 Certified, and USAW Olympic Lifting Certified. Eric spent four years in The Marine Corps as a scout sniper. Eric has a profound love for his wife, kids and kettle bells. Eric placed 3rd in the world for the Masters Division of 45-50yr olds at The 2012 CrossFit Games! We are so proud to call him a Lower Town Coach.
Nick Carignan
Certifications: CrossFit Level I, Movement and Mobility, Paramedic License
In May of 2009, Kyle started his journey to a better life at a small local globo gym. Jumping out to an outstanding 50lb loss Kyle was ecstatic. Seeing his results and the sense of accomplishment he felt in himself, he decided he wanted to share the same pride and accomplishment with others. Keeping on the path of bettering himself and his life Kyle developed a passion for fitness and health. Slowly he started researching the different methodologies of the fitness world. Now down 80lbs, Kyle was fortunate enough to get a job as a Personal Trainer at LA Fitness in Livonia in 2011. Through his constant pursuit to refine his craft, and through constant trial and error in his own training, Kyle had caught the attention of a fellow employee who had done CrossFit. When I approached to try CrossFit Kyle reluctantly agreed to give it a shot. He entered his first workout at CrossFit Lower Town intimidated and unsure, but left as a junkie! Four months after starting CrossFit Kyle became certified as a Level 1 CrossFit Coach. Processed foods were gone and meats and vegetables had become a staple in his diet. He then found himself developing an extreme love for Bacon!!!!!!! Kyle was part of the family and his positive attitude and encouragement was infectious!
Kyle thoroughly enjoys seeing people achieve goals they once though impossible, people passing personal boundaries and doing so with hard work and clean eating!!!! Kyle has a different perspective than you’ll find of most trainers. Coming from near rock bottom, Kyle wants nothing more than to help others in the same situation and also prevent the situation for anyone he can.

Alonso Duran
Certifications: CrossFit Level 1
Alonso grew up being always being active. Not a typical high school jock, Alonso loved activities like hiking and mountain climbing. He began doing CrossFit out of a Globo gym with a couple friends. Hating the stares from other gym goers for his butterfly pull ups and not being able to drop weights, he decided to check out a CrossFit box. Alonso fit in perfectly at Lower Town. CrossFit became a primary passion and he couldn’t get enough. Alonso represented CFLT at the 2012 CrossFit Games Regional. He will be attending the CrossFit Level-1 Certification Seminar at Rogue Fitness September 1st. We look forward to what he brings to the table at CrossFit Lower town.
Brian Hatton
Certifications: USAW Olympic Lifting
Brian teaches our Olympic weightlifting class.
Brian grew up in the martial arts, having trained in Tae Kwon Do as a child and into his teens. As a young adult he found Muay Thai kickboxing and fell in love. He found a new focus for his competitiveness and trained for many years and eventually went pro in addition to teaching. He started CrossFit as a way to prepare for his fights, and soon found himself more interested in Olympic lifting than fighting. He has been active in the CrossFit community for almost 4 years now and is still eager to achieve more as both an athlete and a trainer.
Brian lives here, in Plymouth, with his wife and fellow CrossFitter, Martina. You can see their wedding photos in the gym (yes they were married at CrossFit Lower Town).
Sarah Stobbe
Certifications:CF-L1, 3rd degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do
I am a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a 6 time national gold medalist in women’s light weight contact sparring. I taught martial arts for 9 years before discovering CrossFit, which has been my life for almost 2 years. I love the community, training for competitions, and the fact that every day is a new challenge to better oneself physically and mentally. My fiancé is my favorite training partner and I love watching his passions flourish since he opened his own box.
Mark Hughes
Certifications: Certified Level 1 Crossfit Trainer, Certified USAW Level 1 Coach
While growing up, fitness and sports was a large part of Mark’s life. Every single day, you could find him in his back yard playing basketball. During this stage of my life I wasn’t into lifting weights because I thought it would throw my shot off like most B-Ball players. I firmly believed that if I were in better shape than my competition, I would always have the advantage
One night while watching a infomercial I saw the body for life transformations and decided that I was no longer going to be the skinny guy, needless to say 90 days later I had packed on 20 pounds of muscle and that is what changed my life. Since then I’ve become a sponge to anything that has to do with fitness. I have educated myself by getting certified as a personal trainer and massage therapist, to better understand the body and it functions.
A friend of mine introduced me about crossfit and ever since that first class it has become my new drug. My passion is to help educate train and transform everyone that I can to be the most mentally tough and physically fit individual that they can be.
