When/Why did you start CrossFit?
Started February of 2013. I was bored of my routine at lifetime, had heard CrossFit was the ass kickin’ I needed.
How has CrossFit changed you?
CrossFit has changed my mindset about weightlifting and personal health. I wasn’t a huge lifter cause of the sport I played, and especially wanted no part of Olympic lifting that was “unnecessary”. CrossFit has brought me a new understanding and appreciation to total body lifting.
What are your strengths/weaknesses in the gym?
Strengths: Running and lower body lifts. Back squats, Wall balls and ball slams are my best!
Weakness: Definitely upper body strength. While being a pitcher, we were not allowed to lift anything over our heads and no heavy upper body.
What is your favorite WOD?
I know nobody will believe me besides Coach Hatton, but it’s “Karen” love wall balls!!
Anthony went to Detroit Catholic Central, played baseball, basketball, and football. He went to EMU, played baseball and earned his degree in marketing. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2003, and played 6 1/2 seasons with the organization. He bought his first Jimmy Johns in 2003, and has been building stores since, up to 15 stores now. Maybe that’s why he’s so freaky fast! He enjoys all sports, working out, and he LOVES BOY BANDS!!
